Dorothea Seel FLUTE

Dorothea Seel, artistic direction and flute, holds a PhD in Music and is a teacher at the Universität Mozarteum in Innsbruck.

In the English and German Early Music scene she has been quite an eccentric figure and played with all the pioneers and celebreties; you name them- she’s been there.

To fully engage her urge to create she has founded her own groups among which the Barocksolisten München.

At age 11 she published a biography of W. A. Mozart for whom she has a wild fascination until this day. 

She has recorded most of the flute repertoire of the classical era that has been rediscovered yet and is always looking for more challenges and unknown gems of the classical and romantic flute repertoire to be brought back to the stage or to be pressed on discs. It might have been her obsession with Mozart that triggered her wish to become Austrian, a goal she achieved in 2016.



Andreas Helm, Oboe, is one of the top baroque oboe players in Europe, if not the world.

He is appearing as soloist and principal oboe with all the five star orchestras of Europe and is also taking on the musical direction of his own group, Barucco.

As a teacher he is building up a legacy at the Konservatorium in Graz and Vienna as well as several masterclasses in…

But Andreas is not only an accomplished baroque oboist and recorder player. He is also mastering his native traditional music from Austria, including folk instruments and yodeling.


Speaking of yodeling. Kartin Lazar, baroque bassoonist and accomplished recorder player holds a diploma first degree in yodeling.

She was born in London and grew up in Munich.

Holding teaching positions for baroque bassoon at the renowned Musichochschule in Trossingen and in Munich, she is modeling the future of Germany’s next top baroque bassoonists.

When Katrin is not performing as a soloist, she can be heard shaping those continuo bass lines in the most beautiful way imaginable. But beware. Her sincere appearance on stage might be misleading.

Shunske Sato VIOLIN

Shunske Sato - Violine

In Tokyo geboren, wuchs Shunske in Amerika auf, heute lebt er in Holland. Als Barockgeiger ist Shunske Sato beim Concerto Köln und De Nederlandse Bachvereniging als Konzertmeister tätig, er unterrichtet am Conservatorium van Amsterdam. 2010 war Shunske Preisträger beim 17. Internationalen Bach-Wettbewerb Leipzig.

Seine umfangreiche Diskografie beinhaltet Aufnahmen von u.a. Edvard Griegs Violinsonaten – die in Japan mit dem “Grand Prize” ausgezeichnet wurde – und zuletzt von der 12 „Fantasien für Solo Violine“ von Telemann.  2009 nahm Shunske Sato als erster Violinist Niccolò Paganinis „Capricen für Solovioline“ (Universal Classics Japan) aus der Perspektive der historisch informierten Aufführungspraxis (mit Darmsaiten und historischem Bogen) auf.


Shunske Sato - Violin

Shunske was born in Tokyo, grew up in the US, and now calls The Netherlands home. He is a concert master at Concerto Köln and De Nederlandse Bachvereniging, and teaches baroque violin at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. In 2010, Shunske was the award winner at the 17th International Bach Competition in Leipzig. He has recorded a large number of CDs , among which the recording of the violin sonatas by Edvard Grieg won him the Grand Prize in Japan. In 2009, Shunske was the first violinist to record Niccolò Paganini’s Caprices for Violin Solo in a ‘historically informed’ way – on gut strings and with historical bow.

His latest CD features the 12 Fantasies for Violin Solo by Telemann.

Elisabeth Wiesbauer VIOLIN

Elisabeth Wiesbauer - Violine

Die Geigerin mit oberösterreichischen Wurzeln ist Trägerin des Würdigungspreises des Bundesministeriums für Bildung, Wissenschaft und Kultur für ihre besonderen künstlerischen Leistungen. Sie ist Stimmführerin und zweite Konzertmeisterin bei den Orchestern barucco und Capella Leopoldina Graz, zweite Stimmführerin beim Orchester Wiener Akademie unter Martin Haselböck. Seit 2009 ist sie ständiges Mitglied im L’Orfeo Barockorchester.

Als Solistin, Kammermusikerin und Orchestermitglied konzertiert sie auch mit zahlreichen anderen Klangkörpern bei führenden Festivals und Konzertreihen im In- und Ausland. Seit 2018 ist sie Professorin für Barockvioline an der Bruckner Privatuniversität Linz.


Elisabeth Wiesbauer - Violin

The Austrian violinist was awarded the honorary prize of the Austrian Minister of  Education, Science and Culture for her outstanding artistic performance. She is second violin principal and also associate concertmaster with the orchestras barucco and Capella Leopoldina Graz, and principal second violin with the orchestra Wiener Akademie, directed by Martin Haselböck. Since 2009 she is a member of L’Orfeo Barockorchester Linz.

Elisabeth is very much sought-after soloist, chamber musician and orchestral musician by many early-music ensembles to perform at international festivals and touring the world. She is teaching baroque violin at the Privatuniversität Linz.

Raquel Massadas VIOLA

Raquel Massadas is our secret operator. As the gracious queen of the leading middle voice, she is connecting our tops and bottoms.

No need to talk about it. Yet a force of nature when the music asks for it. Needless to say. Her presence oozes equilibrium, in all discretion,

and one might wonder whether she carries around a pocket oracle or if she was simply born that wise.

Robin Michael CELLO

Scottish born Robin Michael is not only our cellist, but also the harmonic conscience of the continuo section. The secret probably lies in his secretive past as a wonderful jazz pianist. Nowadays he is sporting a brilliant career as a baroque cellist. We wonder if that fact is known by all the fine top gauge chamber orchestras around the globe by which he is sought after as a guest section leader.

He is holding principal positions with Les Siecles and John Elliot Gardiner's fine orchestras, the ORR and we decided not to go for namedropping here, otherwise Robin's list would not come to an end. No cellist covers so many genres and functions. And we have him, too!

Christine Sticher DOUBLE BASS

Christine wurde im Saarland geboren, wo sie in einem kleinen Ort mit grossem Interesse für Musik aufwuchs.
England, die Niederlande und Deutschland sind die Zentren ihres musikalischen Engagements.
Sie zeichnet sich  hauptsächlich verantwortlich für das tiefste Register beim The English Concert, Dunedin Consort und Holland Baroque, und als regelmäßiger Gast beim Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment und der Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin.
In der kleinen Zeit zwischen ihren internationalen Tourneen führt sie zusammen mit Freund und Gärtner Martin Höfft das Café Botanico mit dem dazugehörigen Permakulturgarten in Berlin's Neukölln.


Christine Sticher / Double Bass, Violone

Christine was born in Germany, where she grew up in a small town with a vivid musical scene. 
The centers of her musical life are England, The Netherlands and Germany. She is responsible for the lowest register of The English Concert, Dunedin Consort and Holland Baroque, and as a regular guest also with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin.
She spends the time between her international tours supervising Berlin's Café Botanico and its permaculture garden, together with friend and gardener Martin Höfft.

Anne Marie Dragosits HARPSICHROD

Indulging in every melody as a soloist and inventing beauty in counterpoint in a split second. That is Anne Marie Dragosits playing the keyboards.

What she calls her “free time“ is roaming the oldest libraries of Italy, searching for handwritten treasures of the past, specifically that of Kapsberger.

Not without researching the best Italian food outside those libraries after closing time.

Annemarie is professor for harpsichord at the Bruckner Konservatorium in Linz. She runs her own group, Vivante, to explore the early continuo oriented repertoire.

To keep her on her toes, we challenge her to play difficult stuff on a different harpsichord on every occasion.
